Philadelphia is no stranger to housing some of the best rappers in the industry. The 26-year-old artist, Kur, is making sure to keep that flame alive for the city of Philly. Releasing his first project of 2020 in mid-October, ‘It Shouldn’t Be Like This’ he put out a statement on his Twitter that the name of the album was almost ‘How It Is.’ Although, after taking a step back he decided to change it to the title it holds today.
The video was directed by Slim Moses, another Philadelphia native, and illustrates the rapper as a young child in a black and white aesthetic with each bar being about his come up. Kur puts his feelings on full display as he vents over the instrumental, that was produced by Biz. The outro of the song Kur states “was [actually] a separate song I made the day I heard a good rap homie of mine had died.”
