Artists We’re Excited to Hear From in 2021

One silver lining of being stuck at home in 2020 was the extra time we had to enjoy the abundance of new music that artists released. Keep scrolling to read a list of artists we’re keeping an eye on in 2021.

  1. Megan Thee Stallion

After being awarded best female hip-hop artist at the BET Awards, dropping her debut album, and advocating for Black women in her New York Times op-ed, Megan Thee Stallion made 2020 her year. Her album Good News featured many impressive artists and inspired multiple viral dance trends. We can’t wait to see what good news Meg has for us next.

  1. Omar Apollo

Omar Apollo’s latest album, Apolonio, featured Kali Uchis and Ruel and gave us the perfect laid-back vibes we needed in 2020. His uniquely smooth R&B sound with indie and soul influences is exactly what your playlist is missing.

  1. The Kid LAROI

17-year-old Juice Wrld protege Kid Laroi blew up in 2020 after his viral hit that name-dropped TikTok star Addison Rae. After releasing his debut mixtape F*CK LOVE, the Australian rapper went on to earn his first platinum record for GO (feat. Juice Wrld) in the same year.

  1. SZA

R&B star Sza ended 2020 on a high note with the drop of her highly-anticipated single Good Days. She has been teasing her long-awaited sophomore album on social media lately, and we can’t wait for it to drop after hearing all of her fire collaborations last year.

Rapper Tokyo’s Revenge has been compared to the likes of Ski Mask The Slump God and XXXTENTACION and makes music inspired by the South Florida sound. In 2019 his song GOODMORNINGTOKYO went viral and proved his freestyle skills. His EP lilium dropped at the end of 2020, but we’re already hyped to see what he has in store for 2021.

  1. Odie

R&B singer and songwriter Odie cites Kid Cudi and Coldplay among his inspirations for his distinctive and polished sound. He made waves with his two singles released in 2020, Miss Summer and Slowly, and we hope to hear more from him this year.
